Women of the South (WOS) has awarded hundreds of scholarships and contributions in support of many cultural and community projects throughout the South Oklahoma City metro area since it’s inception in 1995. Financing for these projects is achieved through two annual fundraising events, including: The Southern Open Golf Tournament and The Southern Gala Dinner and Auction.

Women of the South has awarded numerous women, who are primary providers of their household with Associate Degrees at Oklahoma City Community College. Funding includes tuition, fees, and books. In addition, each year they award thousands of dollars in scholarships to South Oklahoma City area high school senior women, including five South Oklahoma City Schools, three Moore High Schools and Western Heights. A $1,000 grant is also awarded to an elementary school each year.
